DAY 2
Hanoi -> Ha Long –> Unesco World Heritage
Begin your morning with a half-day city tour of Hanoi, starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex—a tribute to Vietnam’s revered founding leader. The tour includes a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (note: closed on Mondays, Fridays, and from October to November), where his body is preserved. Nearby, admire the colonial-era Presidential Palace, once the residence of the French Governor and a fine example of French architecture. Explore the traditional stilt house where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked, offering insight into his simple lifestyle. Continue to the One Pillar Pagoda, an iconic 11th-century temple built in dedication to the Buddha of Compassion, designed to resemble a lotus rising from a pond.
Next, head to the Temple of Literature—Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070 by the Ly Dynasty to honor Confucius and esteemed Vietnamese scholars. Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, begin your scenic drive to Ha Long Bay, located approximately 160 km away (about 3 hours by road). En route, pass through the rural landscapes of the Red River Delta, with photo opportunities of local farmers working in lush green rice fields. You’ll also stop at a handicraft workshop featuring fine clothing and embroidered artwork. Arrive in Ha Long City by late afternoon, check into your hotel, and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

DAY 3
Hanoi –> Ha Long -> Hanoi
Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel between 6:00–7:00 AM, then transfer to the dock to board a cruise and set off on a scenic journey through the legendary Ha Long Bay. In Vietnamese, “Ha Long” translates to “Descending Dragon,” inspired by the local legend of a divine dragon descending from the heavens. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay is renowned for its striking natural beauty and geological history spanning over 500 million years. It features nearly 2,000 limestone karst islands and islets spread across an area of 1,553 km².
During the cruise, the boat will stop at Dau Go Island, where you’ll explore the mesmerizing Thien Cung Cave (Heavenly Palace Cave) and Dau Go Cave (Wooden Stakes Cave). The latter holds historical significance, as it was used in the 13th century to store wooden stakes that helped Vietnamese military leader Tran Hung Dao defeat the Mongol navy in the Battle of Bach Dang. As you cruise through the bay, enjoy a freshly prepared seafood lunch onboard. After the cruise, disembark and drive back to Hanoi. Spend your afternoon shopping in the bustling streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter and enjoy your evening at leisure.

In the morning, embark on a scenic drive approximately 100 km south of Hanoi (around 2.5 hours) to Hoa Lu District in Ninh Binh Province. Visit the ancient temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang—the first ruler of Vietnam—and the kings of the Le Dynasty.
After lunch at a local restaurant, continue your journey to Trang An, a renowned eco-tourism site home to over 310 species of plants, rare woods, and various wildlife including around 30 species of mammals, 50 species of birds, reptiles, and rare animals like leopards and chamois. Enjoy a tranquil boat ride through the mystical cave complex including Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, and Nau Ruou Cave.
